Kia ora, I'm Hayley — founder of The Perinatal Compass, a qualified antenatal educator and mum of two.
After experiencing birth trauma myself, I became passionate about supporting parents as they navigate pregnancy after a difficult or traumatic birth. I know how overwhelming it can feel to want a different experience this time, yet not know where to start or how to make that happen.
Alongside my lived experience, I have a Bachelor of Nursing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health (Health Promotion), and a Diploma in Pregnancy, Childbirth and Early Parenting Education. My professional background in nursing, public health and health education shapes the evidence-informed, practical approach I bring to The Perinatal Compass.
Bringing these experiences together, I created Navigating Birth After Trauma for parents who, like me, want to feel more prepared going into birth again and to better understand their options, know what questions to ask, and feel more confident making decisions that are right for them and their unique circumstances.
You might be looking for information and practical tools, or you might simply need someone who gets it to talk things through with. I offer a few different ways in which I can help support you.
